I got new plants!

After some suggestions by the Tumblr community and people on the Polytheist Community Forum, I decided to bring nature into my apartment a bit by getting some potted plants!

This is also a good time to show off my modern hearth, as exhibited by the Keurig coffee maker to the right. The pseudo-book holds my tea-making equipment and the box behind the plants holds my loose-leaf tea.

Anyway! The plant to the left I got because I’m a sucker for advertisement. It was labelled as “Leprechaun Toes in a Blarney Stone!”

In actuality, it’s Baby Tears in a stone vase. Which is still pretty neat! It’s going to outgrow where I currently have it, but I’m not sure where else to put it. I may try to move it to my shrine space. We’ll see.

I looked up the legends of the Blarney Stone. I was really surprised that one of the stories involves a goddess named Clíodhna. I’ve come across her before. I’m wondering if this is a subtle nudge-nudge from her, since I felt compelled to get the plant? Or if I am just overthinking it and just fell for some clever advertisement?

Time will tell.

The other plant is a bonsai! Specifically (I finally figured out), a Ficus Ginseng Bonsai:

I’m wondering if there is any plant lore associated with the plant, but I’m coming up empty. I might poke around and see what I can find for both it and the baby tears.

I’m excited to have some easy-to-care-for greenery in the home. And with luck, something to keep me company indoors while I have trouble going outdoors.
